“The Moment of Lift: How Empowering Women Changes the World” by Melinda Gates. Participants will receive a copy of the book then meet for dinner and informal discussion.

In the past two decades, Melinda Gates has worked on some of the greatest challenges in global health, including making vaccinations and family planning more widely accessible. In her book, she pulls everything she’s learned together to come up with one major takeaway: when we lift up women and girls everywhere, it benefit us all.

Chris Henshaw, EdE, RN, Professional Development Specialist, Virginia Mason. Chris has been an active member involved with the Program, Board of Directors, Finance, and Nominating Committees. She’s looking forward to facilitating a discussion of this important book and how lessons learned apply to nursing practice.

Who Should Attend:  

Registered Nurses. Due to limited capacity, we are unable to accommodate students at this event.

All participants will receive a certificate of completion for 1.5 hours that meets the continuing competency requirement for license renewal in Washington State.

Registration Deadline:

November 15, 2019 or until full.  Register early! 

We have limited the attendance for this event to 40 participants in order to create an intimate book club discussion format. Books will be mailed upon registration, beginning August 26, 2019.


KCNA Members: $20, $45 Nonmembers. Fee includes the book and box dinner. Free parking is available.
