KCNA 2019 Scholarships

King County Nurses Association (KCNA) is proud to help ensure the future of nursing in our community by offering scholarships to qualified nursing students. Recipients have been selected for the 2019-20 school year. Applications will be available by January 1, 2020 for the 2020-21 school year.


  1. Provide financial assistance to qualified students who have a permanent address, or are currently enrolled in a nursing program in King County and are preparing for a career as a registered nurse, or to RNs returning for an advanced degree in nursing or a related field.
  2. Encourage and provide for increasing diversity within the nursing profession that reflects the population as a whole.
  3. Support nurses to be change agents in creating a healthier community in King County.

National Lung & Respiratory Scholarship is available to students in accredited schools of nursing or accredited respiratory therapy programs. The scholarship awards $3,000 and the deadline is May 15. More information is available here. sponsors an annual scholarship of $1,000. Apply here .

The Recovery Village offers a $1,000 scholarship for students studying for a career in health or psychology. The scholarship focus is on those students interested in working in the area of substance abuse. Apply by June 30.

The website has information about choosing a career and offers a $1,500 scholarship each year to a student planning a profession in health care.
