About KCNA Scholarships

King County Nurses Association (KCNA) is proud to help ensure the future of nursing in our community by offering scholarships to qualified nursing students.

Scholarship recipients have been selected for the 2017-18 academic year and will be introduced at the Annual Meeting on May 11, 2017.

Interested in applying for a scholarship? Applications will be posted online by January 1, 2018 with an application deadline of March 1, 2018 for the 2018-19 academic year.

PURPOSE

  1. Provide financial assistance to qualified students who have a permanent address, or are currently enrolled in a nursing program in King County and are preparing for a career as a registered nurse, or to RNs returning for an advanced degree in nursing or a related field.
  2. Encourage and provide for increasing diversity within the nursing profession that reflects the population as a whole.
  3. Support nurses to be change agents in creating a healthier community in King County.

TYPES OF SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE

2018-19 Scholarships: Applicants must be accepted into or currently enrolled in a nursing program for the summer 2018 through spring 2019 school year. If you have applied but have not been accepted, you are ineligible and should wait until the following year to apply for the scholarship.

National Lung & Respiratory Scholarship is available to students in accredited schools of nursing or accredited respiratory therapy programs. The scholarship awards $3,000 and the deadline is May 15. More information is available here.
